When people say that Agile doesn't work, I dig down into my memories of Agile projects gone wrong in the past, I then seek evidence as to how the project was setup and then (almost always) I confirm that it's not Agile that's wrong ... just that Agile wasn't done right.
I'm not biased, of course. But everyone else is. Agile is perfect, don't you know?
In fact, I'm so unbiased ... that about 8 years ago I invented my little Agile mantra. It goes like this "Agile works, but it's hard work".
Seriously, my confirmation bias goes like this:
Was agile was used on this project?
If YES then was it a success?
If YES then THAT CONFIRMS that AGILE works.
ELSE then THAT CONFIRMS they didn't do AGILE right.
ELSE
Why not, because Agile works, but it is hard work.
