Do you remember before Xmas I asked for help trying to find the opposite of selfish?
I got loads of emails with suggested words … but none of them quite fit the meaning I was looking for. (Don't get me wrong. Your answers were correct, I just couldn't figure out what question I was asking).
They did lead me to this, though:
ob·se·qui·ous
/əbˈsēkwēəs/
Adjective
Obedient or attentive to an excessive or servile degree. Synonyms
servile - subservient - slavish - menial - fawning
And then yesterday, I discovered this quick article which very eloquently describes what I was trying to get my head around: http://whartonmagazine.com/blogs/sustainable-employee-motivation-selfish-or-selfless/. I recommend you take a minute to read it.
