I get bored with agile stand up meetings and every so often, if there's time, I try to "spice them up" just a little by adding an "interest but irrelevant" question.
This morning, with no objections, I asked everyone in the team to share something interesting which the rest of us might not know about them.
It turned out that 2/3rds of that team saw and touched SNOW for the FIRST time in their lives. They're all from India and are working over here in Scotland for a few months.
It turned out that one of our analysts used to manage a 4000 acre farm - and it was his 1 year anniversary on the project.
It turned out that another of our analysts nearly had a very scary accident (think the ending of the original Italian job movie but on her icy, steep driveway) over the weekend and was still a little shook up.
We did cover the normal scrum questions ... but it was nice to do something people, rather than purely task, focused for a change.
