Rick Maybury writes a techie Q&A column for The Telegraph. I can't explain why but I'm a sucker for these sorts of things.
This Q&A raised my eyebrows though:
Q: I've found a quick way of putting an acute accent over the letter "e". I type "café" then delete the letters "caf" and insert "ros" to make rosé, and so on.
Libby Armitage, by emailadvertisementA: Ingenious, but unnecessary - I'll stick to the quick and easy Word shortcut of Ctrl + ' (apostrophe), then the letter. Unfortunately this doesn't work in Outlook Express or Windows Mail, but there is another simple shortcut; press and hold Ctrl + Alt then the letter key. For more Word accents see tinyurl.com/2d9tgt.
I'm on Libby's side. I can remember her approach therefore I'll use it. It is stickie ...
I don't want to harp on about EverydayAgile ... but that's what I hope to achieve: something that maybe isn't the very, very, very best technically, but something that works and sticks.
