my laptap is hot to the touch
My 14 month old laptop has recently started getting very hot to the touch. It never used to be. Any hints on how I can cool it down?
I read online that it might be something to do with dusty vents ... but I don't have a clue if that's true or how to de-dust my vents...
I suspect that one of your fans is faulty. This happened to a Dell Inspiron I have. I bought a replacement fan and successfully (following online pictorial instructions) disassembled the computer, replaced the fan, and assembled it again, and it actually still works.
Otherwise, make sure you never rest the laptop on a blanket or duvet (so that the vents are not covered) and use a hoover hose to clean out the vents.
Careful how often you run it, though...if the CPU fries, you have a piece of useless plastic and metal.
