Happiness
Do you think my 1.5 year old daughter's care worker likes her job?
I'd hate her job, but yesterday I read this comment she wrote on Alice's daily report:
At nursery I had a lot of fun dressing up. I was dressed up as a fairy and Kirsty said I looked very pretty!
I didn't believe her so she told me to look in the mirror.
I looked so pretty I could have sat on top of the Christmas tree!
I'm so sad I didn't find the outfit in time!
I think she clearly likes her job.
Makes me feel happier as a parent and customer too.
Dear Clark
Let me hug you for bringing these wonderful moments into a blog which is read mainly by people who are technicians and face a world of code, HTML, excel sheets and powerpoints as cruel reality.
May 2007 be another wonderful year for you and your family and us reading your precious blog.

Clark,
The question of happiness is not one of work or status - its about a life being well spent. You seem to hold your status as a parent as important while comparing the rewards ($$$) as its measure. You should not be surprised by someone else's choice not to have that same measure in that supreme spot. I'm glad you can see and say you've learn some of the sensitivity to what happiness is really about.
