Clarke's 1st "I'd like to buy them a beer" award

The winners of my first ever "I'd like to buy them a beer" award are:

  1. David Maister for sharing his thoughts and wisdom via his Business Masterclass Seminar's Podcasts.  I've learned so much and so easily from listening to David that I'd happily buy him 2 perhaps even 3 beers.  I particularly enjoyed his podcast on Friendship skills - so, so relevant.  I own several of David's books and although I've enjoyed them and learned from them, I gotta say the Podcasts alone are worth the price of my ipod.
  2. I first came across Charles Green online at the start the year when I followed his blog advice to prepare a new year's gratitude list.  He wrote the wonderful Trust-Based Selling.  We've since been in touch via email and in this short space of time he has profoundly change my thinking about one of the most important parts of my book.  My book, it turns out, is all about trust, loyalty and relationships - and that's where Charles specializes.  Charles gets 4 beers because he's been so generous with his time directly with me.  He's also got a nice blog.
  3. Bob Payne for taking the time to share his brilliant Agile Toolkit Podcasts.  It's just like having a beer with my heroes, but cheaper and less intoxicating.  Bob gets 2 beers too.

As it turns out ... David and Charles wrote a book together - The Trusted Advisor.  I honestly didn't think of that when I started writing this blog entry ... I just thought to myself "I really owe these chaps a beer" and here we are.
