I've just finished reading Julie Wright's new TOC / Healthcare business novel "We all Fall down".
It's an excellent book. I'm a slow reader but I finished it in 4 days.
Not as earth shattering as Goldratt's first 3 novels, but it's well written and even though I've been learning and using TOC for nearly a decade, I learned things from the book. My wife (a consutlant psychiatrist) instantly recognised the core problem identified by Julie.
I was suprised to see the cloud because I recognised it - even though I don't work directly in health. I've drawn the very same cloud a few times already for both myself and friends. In fact, breaking that particular cloud made a massive difference in my own life and in a good friends life too - Julie, my friend and I all broke the cloud differently, but a client of ours (in software development) has half-arsedly implemented Julies solution.
I've emailed Julie and she's going to send me the first chapter during the next couple of days - I'll post it here as soon as I get it. That said, I recommend that you go out and buy it.
If you are in the UK (or Europe, I suppose) then you can buy it from www. goldratt.co.uk here: http://www.goldrattcentre.com/merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=1&Product_Code=211&Category_Code=010 and save the delivery time. (You can also call them on +44 (0)1628 530044)
If you are in the US then you can get it from the publishers here: http://www.northriverpress.com/product30.html or more cheaply from amazon.com here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0884271811/sr=8-5/qid=1140101009/ref=sr_1_5/002-8416243-8001605?%5Fencoding=UTF8
Hope this helps.
