Swanson's Unwritten Rules of Management
There’s been a bit of fuss in the blog world about Swanson's Unwritten Rules of Management.
Bill Swanson is CEO of Aerospace giant Raytheon. They’ve kindly added the Business 2.0 article to their website and they even allowing you to request a copy of the rules to be sent to you.

Update 7 May 2006: turns out Swanson "borrowed" many of the rules from a book written in 1944 ... [via ft.com and anon].

Raytheon? Rings a bell. Didn't Jerry Taylor the famously dim and belligerent City Manager of Tuttle learn his trade at Raytheon? I wonder which unwritten rule that was about.

He also barrowed from Dave Barry, the humor writer, whose book "Dave Barry Turns 50" includes the one about the rude waiter -- years before Swanson "thought" of it.
