Okay. This is not the mock test referred to in earlier postings. For this audience it's the idea that's important not the test.
1) Imagine a scale from 1 to 10 with a normal "bell curve" distribution.
Civil servants are at 2.5
Bank managers are at 4.
Teachers are at 5.
MBA students are at 7.
Marketing and Personal managers are at 7.5
Effern is at 8
Clarke Ching is at 8.3
2) Guestimate your own position on the scale. Since you are reading this blog you're probably a 7,8, or 9.
2.1) You probably find people who score 2 points higher or lower than you annoying.
2.2) They find you annoying too.
2.3) You need each other
3) Guestimate your employers position on the scale. You could do this by guestimating a bunch of your colleagues and averaging their scores.
3.1) If there is more than 1 or 2 points different then you probably feel like you don't fit. You probably find your work life frustrating. You probably wish they would change.
3.2) They won't change
3.3) But the culture will probably beat you down over time if you stay.
Warning: this really is unscientific and only intended to show that people think about the world differently.
