www.bizsum.com is a subscription based web-business that sends out weekly 10-page summaries of current business books. What I like is that this an example of a perfect e-business model: quick, free distribution to an international customer base. If the product is good enough and they can reach enough customers then they'll do well.
I've been subscribed for a while now and they always send out well written and relevent books. That said, I was given a free subscription so I'm slightly biased.
Don't subscribe immediately though because they have a free trial on their home page.
(Thankfully, you don't have to provide a credit card and then cancel later, or anything devious like that. I wouldn't recommend them if they did).
I subscribed to the trial a wee while ago to see what books they sent and, so far, the freebies are:
- First Things First: To Live, To Love, To Learn, To Leave a Legacy By Stephen R. Covey, A. Roger Merrill, Rebecca R. Merrill
- How To Become A Rainmaker: The Rules for Getting and Keeping Customers and Clients by Jeffrey J. Fox
- The 17 Indisputable Laws Of Teamwork: Embrace Them And Empower Your Team by John C. Maxwell
- Survival Is Not Enough: Zooming, Evolution, and the Future of Your Company by Seth Godin
- Failing Forward: Turning Mistakes into Stepping-Stones for Success by John Maxwell
- The Customer Revolution: How To Thrive When Customers Are In Control by Patricia B. Seybold
- EVEolution: Understanding Women - - Eight Essential Truths That Work in Your Business and Your Life by Faith Popcorn and Lys Marigold
I'm making this recommendation because I think it's no lose for you: if you like then subscribe, if you don't like the don't subcribe.
