Downsizing is bad for your health - part iii - this time it's personal

My employer just announced a 20% "downsizing" due in the next few months.

I suspect I'll be on the "to go" list since I'll be cheaper to get rid of.  Our company is strange -  even though I've been in the place for 4 years I'm a newbie compared to most (many colleagues have been in the company over 10 years, and several nearer 30) so my redundancy payout would be relatively tiny.  I'd decided to leave anyway and have the CV polished but I was hoping to do it on my terms once my dissertation was finished, rather than in reaction to redundancy.

We'll see.
